Why the silence?
My astute friend Cileia recently proposed 2 reasons for a blog to remain silent - the author is doing nothing worth writing about, or the author is doing too many things to find the time to write. In the 12 days since my last post, i can say the latter has definitely been true for me! Here's a selection of what i've been doing to pass the time...
- Riding around Bangkok in a Tuk-Tuk wearing a bright orange flowery shirt
- Spraying hundreds of people with a water gun
- Walking through a sea of people, having white powder rubbed all over my face
- (all of the above were to celebrate the Thai New Year, or 'Songkran', Festival
- Showing my parents & God-Mum the wonders of Bangkok
- Spending 4 relaxing days on the beautiful island of Koh Samui
- Arranging interviews to select the team who will work with me next year to coordinate AIESEC activities in Western Europe & Northa America
- Starting to prepare my successor, Suchith, for his year in Thailand
- Talking to more people interested to be in the National team of AIESEC in Thailand next year
- Supporting student members here as they attend their first sales meetings
- Celebrating the birthday of my dear friend Weaw (twice in fact!)
- Taking my first salsa class in Bangkok (i'm the only guy in the group!)
- Looking for new laptops (does anyone own a Vaio? I'm thinking of getting one)
- Chatting with my darlings - Aine, Bee, Zuzi, and that MCP from Venezuela ;)
- Enjoying deliciously fresh pineapple, mango, guava and coconut
- Watching the Red Devils maintain their lead of the Premier League, and take a slim lead over Milan in the Champions League Semi
- Going to the gym and the pool to get back in shape for the European summer ;)
- Wishing that this part of the adventure didn't have to end so soon, while at the same time being impatient about the next part starting...
Photos to follow soon, when i'm not about to fall asleep on my keyboard...
Good night x

Patience
This was the name of Take That's comeback song late last year, and was being played everywhere when i went back to the UK in December. I really liked the song.
And now i am starting to really learn about patience. I don't think it's one of my strengths at the moment. I always want things 'right now' and get frustrated if i can't have them. This means I often expect other people to do unreasonable things because i don't know how to wait.
It's tough learning about patience, but I think I am getting better at it.
And I am very grateful to those people who are helping me to learn. THANK YOU!

Magnificent Seven
Manchester United 7
AS Roma 1
They could have gone under, following successive defeats to Roma in the 1st leg, and Portsmouth in the Premiership. But the Red Devils produced a masterclass in true attacking football, and responded in the only way this team knows how - by scoring lots of goals!!!
Bring on the semi-finals!
p.s. my latest student is learning fast the ways of the beautiful game ;)

A new generation...
Just a typical Sunday…
Interviews with 3 motivated and committed candidates for Country Coach.
Chat with an MCP applicant on her role, responsibilities and possible future team- mates.
Discussions with alumni about solutions to support part-time international MC members.
Honestly speaking, on some days I don’t enjoy my job. On days like today I love it.
At last the future is starting to look clearer. And it looks exciting!
