Closer again

"My heart will bleed when you leave, but i want you to be happy.
If i stopped you from leaving, what kind of boyfriend would I be?"

Beautiful words from a beautiful person with far more strength than i could have hoped for in this painful time.

Thank you, Schatzi, from the bottom of my heart x

Just (another) one of those days...

Why is it that some days, you feel like you achieve nothing up until 5pm? I mean, you are running around donig stuff, taking phone calls every 3 minutes, answering every possible question and request, but in terms of measurable output there is, as my dear Mother would say, sweet F-A!

And then of course just when you get into a working rhythm, the server grinds to a halt, and your boyfriend wants to have deep-&-meaningfuls with you. Right then, on-the-spot, none-negotiable.

So, here we are. It's 2am, i am number-crunching for LC fees, i have a strategic meeting starting in 6hrs, and my application is shelved again. Thailand is starting to look very far away...

Not strictly ballroom

SO now i know how to dance the English Waltz (finally a true English gentleman, joelle said) and the Cha Cha Cha.

Or at least i know the basics. Problem is it gets rather boring when you repeat the same sequence of 8 bars throughout an entire song. Still i guess i shouldn't expect too much from a 45min class with 25 other couples...

I tried to introduce some of the moves i learnt in salsa. Except i realised i don't actually remember that much! On Monday (a rare day off) i found myself walking in salsa rhythm along a stream in Basel. It was such a beautiful spring morning. I was really trying to get my hips going, to make that nice triangle between shoulders, hips & knees. I must have looked so ridiculous! Oh, now I miss those Thursday nights. I remember how my body & mind would be so refreshed, so liberated, as i moved to those Cuban grooves. Caro, what happened to our Tango idea...?

Merci, Jo, d'une tres bonne soiree.

INPUT 06: saying hello, saying goodbye & saying thank you

Exhausting, inspiring, demanding, tense, confusing, clarifying, enlightening, satisfying, utterly unforgettable. 3 short days, so many thoughts, so many wonderful conversations, so much printing!

A million thanks to Laura, simply the right person for the job ;o)
Thanks to Dhruv, for more than you could know.

Thanks to Verena, Nadja & Joan for keeping my spirits up and making sure they were able to see the 'real Rob'.

Thanks to Tobi, Regi, Flo, Steto, Fabo & Marcel for an awesome year.

To Chris, Marianne, Marie, JB, Joao, Pascal, Robin, Berti, Mounir & Jih-Ming - prepare for the year of your life! Looking forward to taking those 1st few steps with you.

When you've walked to the edge of the cliff, put your foot on the bridge, seen the rushing water far below, heard the piranhas snapping, felt the gale blowing around your head, run with all your heart, and made it to the other side, that is the exhileration of leadership.
